Teak

Flat Cut Teak

Teak originates from Southeast Asia, and it is considered to the Orient what Oak is to Americans. It varies from a light brown ( which is most sought-after ) to a darker brown color. It is one of the oldest commercial lumbers, and because of its hindrance to fungi and insects it is ideal for shipbuilding. Teak is commonly used for paneling, indoor and outdoor furniture, floors, and ship decking. It is considered one of the finest appearing decorative woods in the world, and Teak is not very difficult to work with.
