Mahogany has three major commercial species; Cuban, Honduras, and African. Cuban Mahogany is not pictured because the export of it from Cuba has been banned since the middle of the century.

African Mahogany originates from the Ivory Coast and West Africa. Its color can vary from a light pink to a reddish-brown to a tannish-brown. It is considered to be a hard, durable, and lustrous wood that polishes exceptionally well.

Honduras Mahogany, sometimes referred to as "Tropical American Mahogany" can be found in Central and South America. It usually appears in a pale pink to golden brown color(lighter than African). Both are considered to be at the top among the finest cabinet and furniture woods of the world, and also one of the most versatile.
