Macassar Ebony

Macassar Ebony is the most popular type from the Ebony family. It is grown in the East Indies and is sometimes referred to as Marble Wood. The wood is black in color and contains yellowish brown streaks and/or stripes. Macassar Ebony is extremely hard, but to difficult to work with. It is available with ease as veneer and is considered valuable. Usually used for custom panels, fixture work, instruments, and inlays.
