Beech

European Beech(unsteamed)

European Beech(steamed)
| Beech is grown in the U.S. and most of Europe, it naturally displays a reddish brown heartwood with a white sap, however the most desired form is "steamed" from Europe. This means that the flitches are steamed for slicing before cutting and results in a change of color, a light pinkish tint. Beech is widely used in the U.S. for architectural woodwork and design, also a popular choice for furniture. |
